I am very impressed with my new Damascus Steel Oceaneva Explorer ll 1250mtr divers watch. I took it for a dive a couple of days ago. I am in the UK. The water is very cold at this time of year. My Oceanever stood up to it better than I did. Great lume, the watch was very legible at 50mtrs. The lume lasts for at least 8 hours! The watch sits well on the wrist and the rubber strap is great quality. The only niggle is the Sellita 200/1 movement needs to be regulated. It is gaining more seconds than the factory spec. Although it wasn't an issue on my Dive. I do like an accurate watch 🙄. All in all this is a high spec watch. The polished Damascus Steel looks beautiful, as does the watch. The patterns are amazing. The dial is very legible both day and night and at 50mtrs under water. The bezel is firm, as it should be and with the lume on it, I could control my dive time easily. I am now looking at the new limited edition selection, it looks awesome. I think I will need to be fast if I want to get one. Thankyou team Oceaneva, this watch is as good as my Omega 300!

Store owner replied: Thanks for the review. Factory spec on the standard SW200 is up to 30 seconds off per day but we never see that. We tested on these on a timegraph before shipping. It should not be anywhere near that. Usually we see a range of 6-14 seconds per day on most. We rarely even have one over 20 per day. 6 is considered chronometer range so normally these standard SW200 movements are really good.

Just received my time piece ! cor what quality has good weight to it keeping time well And once it finally got shipped it moved quickly I live in the uk it got shipped on Tuesday the 19th and I received it on the 22nd all the way from the states Thank you well worth the wait !!!!

Store owner replied: Hi, bezel works. Turns to the left only. The face has a piece of clear plastic on it you must remove or the bezel won't move. It is a common problem people have because they don't notice it on the face in order to remove it.

Damascus Pattern is good, smooth to the touch. Solid. Swiss movement is accurate. Easy legibility reading the time, not so easy reading the date. The date window needs a cyclops lens. Rubber strap is rubbery, Damascus buckle has some sharp edges and would benefit by being more rounded. Lume on dial, hands, and bezel is consistent and bright blue. After being charged, easily legible after 8 hours in total darkness. Water tightness, I'll take their word on that. It does have a helium escape valve, but I'm sure less than 1% of actual buyers are saturation divers. 😊

Store owner replied: Sorry it took long than anticipated. We had a lot more international orders than we realized and they take much longer due to the paperwork. It put us behind as we had hundreds of orders to fill. We did work 7 days a week for 2 weeks to get them all out in addition to keeping normal business operations going. We appreciate your business and hope you like the piece.

The watch is beautiful, and wears perfectly and comfortably. The stem is extremely hard to pull out making it difficult to get an accurate setting, and the movement, while initially gaining 3-4 seconds per day, suddenly began losing that much and now is losing as much as 15-18 seconds per day, after far less than one month of daily wearing.

Oceaneva Men's Deep Marine Explorer II 1250m Damascus Steel Watch Rubber Strap

Store owner replied: We received the watch back from the customer and inspected the crown. We found no issues. We believe the perceived issue based on email correspondence is that he is comparing how this crown feels with a completely different watch than ours that has an SW200 movement. We explained that the rubber seal inside our crown causes friction and compresses at the last part of the screw down crown procedure. This is not a defect and is related to the 1250m water resistance. Also the crown on these does has slightly more friction when screwing it down versus our regular stainless steel models as both he threads on the case and crown are Damascus layers. The machining of the layers of forge welded steel causes more friction though it is not much. We don't consider it a big deal and it's not a defect. It is still fully functional and not noticeable unless you perhaps are comparing it with another watch that is not Damascus steel on both threads. It is just related to the material the watch is made of so it behaves differently. We have offered the customer a full refund should he choose if he is not happy with it.
